Study Warns of Significant Risks in Using AI Therapy Chatbots

AI-powered therapy chatbots, which promise accessible mental health support, may pose greater dangers than previously realized, according to recent research from Stanford University. The study finds that while these digital assistants are increasingly used as companions and confidants, they can perpetuate stigma, respond inappropriately to vulnerable users, and even overlook perilous warning signs.
